Hi List,

This is the first time I've responded on this list,
though I've been reading it for some time now. Other
people on the list have encouraged asking for
feedback, and outside of New York City this could be
perfectly acceptable. But I'd have to say that if
you're audition for something in NYC, it's not
appropriate to ask for feedback. The auditioners have
seen hundreds of people, and don't have the time for
giving feedback. Also, it will definately mark you as
an amateur in their eyes.

Also, it's not really their job to help you in your
career. They are out there just to find the best
people for their show. If you are interesting in
improving your audition technique, there are classes
geared toward that at most acting studios.

Hope this helps,
Jenny Bold

P.S. Just for your information I am an actress in NYC
concentrating on musical theatre. I work a lot on my
"legit" voice, but do most of my performing in a mix
(but not belt). Come and see me in "What A Piece of
Work Is Dan!" For details: www.atm-nyc.org

P.P.S. Oops. That somehow became an advertisement!
:)
