Uggggh, I agree. That's just evil, having to sit still and be attentive to
other performers while internally getting ready to do your own thing. But
I'm sure you'll handle it just as well as everyone else -- remember it's
difficult for them, too!

One thing that might help is to give yourself something tangible to focus
on: index cards with your performance goals, a couple of pictures that
relax/focus you, a koosh toy to channel your energy toward... I often find
that having something physical keeps me focused when the bats start to fly
around in my head and it gets hard to remember my performance goals
independently!
