Thanks for the advice, but I live in Australia so getting to the US might
prove difficult:)

If you could give me any more information about these references, I'd
really appreciate it. I've raided the university libraries and come up
empty handed so far...

There is surprisingly little on the internet with regards to creating
ornaments, let alone differenciating between styles of ornamentation
appropriate to period. It has been very disappointing and I was
really surprised to find so little information on the Net about it.
