Having been sent copies of this discussion by a friend, I have decided to
become a member and pose a question to the group -
Having had some experience learning and working in countries other than
America, I was wondering how the list (from any country) would feel about a
student working with a faculty member and an outside teacher at the same time.
Once, in a southern european country, I had the good fortune to meet a
talkative woman who coached at the school where I was enrolled. When I
commented I did not feel I was learning much from my teacher, she told me
about another woman who sometimes worked with this teacher's students outside
the curriculum. It was all very quiet, and as I was not there for very long I
was grateful and learned much more.
