I just weeded out my messages including the one that discussed exactly the condition you're describing. The poster said it was rare, but each ear heard differently. If Vocalist weren't down, we could check the archives. I think it started with "ausc..."
What a cool thing to get to teach through and how lucky your student is to have landed with you rather than be branded tone deaf at this point of her life! Good luck!
