Could you expand a little more on this. I’d like to try it but work out how it really works.

I have been studying the Alexander Technique for several months now and I am being taught to let the stomach move in on inhalation and expand between my lower ribs, like an umbrella. I was having trouble with my breath support as well until I ³got² that I still have to firm up the lower abdominals, yet not expand them as I had always done. Upon exhalation, think of a slight tucking motion of the pelvis; this really engages some lower abs and helps in the air control. They call it ³performance breath² A great technique. -- Tina M.
