Subject:  Counter Tenors

Out of Academic interest on my part. Can anyone explain to me the
difference in the mechanism of a man singing as a counter tenor and
full voice.
1) What do men try to do with their bodies and voices when singing
this way.
2) What is happening physically.

I heard Andreas Scholl describe it tonight as singing in his head
voice.
But don't men use this when they are singing full voice?
