I have no inside knowledge on the recording process, but I feel confident that it was Kristin's singing. While the studio recording process can't hurt, I'll bet she's quite good without any enhancements. BTW, we can quibble about what it means to be an opera singer, but her bio (see http://www.kristinchenoweth.com/career-bio/) claims an award in 1993 for most talented young singer from the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. I first learned of Kristin in the recording of the broadway version of "You're a good man charlie brown" - her rendition of "Why are you telling me" is so funny and well done.
Cheers,
Michael
