Subject:  Re: [vocalist] Good Summer Programs? HELP!

Hello,

I am a new member here. I saw this thread and thought I might be
able to help a bit. I haven't attended any summer programs at this
point. I am hoping to in the near future though. I found the
magazine "Classical Singer" very helpful. One of their issues, I
think January's or December's had an article devoted to summer
programs. It had reviews of a couple programs. It also had a 2 or
3 page chart of programs with cost, contact info, application
deadline, etc listed. I found it very helpful.

Some friends of mine attended the summer program in Graz, Austrai
last summer. They were very pleased with the program. Apparently
participants attend German classes every day. You have regular
voice lessons. There are chances to perform with orchestra, and I
think they do a staged production, or at least scenes as well. You
have to pay quite a bit to attend this program though, like $5,000,
plus airfare. From what I understand it is a great program though
(just don't eat lunch in their cafeteria) :-)

Hope this helps!
:-)
Laura
