Subject:  Need some advice for good books

Hi everyone,
I had introduced myself about a month ago, I'm living in Turkey and I sing
pop&jazz stuff.
Now that I would like to go more into jazz improvisation (or just
"improvisation"), I am looking for a couple of books to buy by internet (I
can't find any here in Istanbul).
I've been told that there are some books that aim to make you memorize
combinations of notes as patterns and that it helps a lot.
The 2 names of books I've got are here:
- Jerry Coker'd "Patterns for Jazz"
- Davis Baker's "Improvisational Patterns"

Could you tell me if that's good enough or if you have any better idea? I
think it would also be great if the book is accompanied with a CD to work
with.

Thanks!
