The friend who sang Suzuki told me her director portrayed them as "ladies of the
night". Funny thing was the letter that the two get with regard to Pinkerton's
intentions. In her production BOTH Cio-Cio-San AND Suzuki fell out when they
read:

"Dear Hot Number:

Studly Hungwell will NOT RETURN!!!"

If I hear you've settled into "Philistine Flats", I won't be shocked!
