The fact that everyone seems to have his or her own way of
naming/numbering notes leads me to think that there may *never* be a
system that is agreed upon universally. (The Esperanto of note
naming?!) Therefore, my practice has been to use words to describe a
note. We all seem to know where middle C is, so I describe the note
I'm referring to in relation to middle C. It is less convenient, but
since I don't have to clarify as to which system I'm using, perhaps
it's actually more convenient!
