I am currently a baritone studying voice at a
conservatory. This is my 4th year and then I will be
going to grad school.
I just recently started classes and rehearsals
again...I became sick over the weekend with a viral
infection--which caused much unwanted coughing,
especially at night while I was sleeping. I just got
medicine to reduce the inflammation...(oral prednisone
dose pack) and Zithromax for possible strep. I'm
feeling 100% better....the only thing is that my voice
is hoarse. My speaking voice is terrible, and there's
no possible way I can sing. I have rehearsals all
week for the opera Gianni Schicchi and I'm also
singing in Pirates of Penzance. Obviously I wont be
using my voice for these rehearsals, but can anyone
reccomend ANYTHING for me to do to alleviate my
hoarsness??? I have a nice 4 day weekend ahead of me
with NOTHING to do. HElllllp!!! :)
