I don't think it's a question of overtraining. Your voice is what it
is. You just have to keep struggling until you make gains. Your
points are all well taken.

I am writing to endorse the Anna Russell idea. Why not actually do
this? Look also at Joyce Grenfell, another English comedienne of the
same time. Grenfell had an operatic voice. She used to appear on the
old Ed Sullivan show once in a while. Anyone as o-o-l-l-l-d as I here
on the forum (if such exist) will remember her rendition of "There
Are Fairies at the Bottom of My Garden". I still have a vinyl of her
singing which is hysterical. Anyway, develop your own material and go
for it. Great idea! You could also throw in some of the great, old
music hall numbers.
