Is this student's sound nasally in the sense that you can tell she's
trying to place the tone in her "masque" or nasal cavities and it's
merely coming out all shut off and dull? Or is the voice super-super-
bright and brash?

There's a world of difference, but the solutions are relatively
simple. That doesn't mean they'll change overnight or even in one
lesson.
Let us know. There's tons to be done.
