Hi Mary~
Your teacher is most inaccurate, because the term falsetto ONLY applies to men! In addition, if you are too intimidated by him to ask him questions, he can't possibly be an effective teacher for you. So, I'd suggest you find another teacher...perhaps a women who understands women's voices a whole lot better!
