This is from the Italian news today: "ROYALTIES FOR "O SOLE MIO" TO BE SHARED The famous Italian song, "O sole mio" now has a new composer. The Tribunal of Turin has decided that the music of this celebrated Neapolitan song was written by Alfredo Mazzucchi, together with Eduardo Di Capua - long considered the sole composer. The lyrics were written by the poet Giovanni Capurro in 1898. Judge Alvau of the Turin Court attributed co-authorship to Mazzucchi (1878-1972) for another 18 Neapolitan songs, including "I' te vurria vas^". Mazzucchi's estate, which brought the case to court, can now claim royalty rights to the songs. "O Sole Mio" was recorded by Elvis Presley among others, though in English, naturally. "
