Subject:  RE: [vocalist] Technique as a solid, tangible thing

Dear Patricia,
I DO think of it as a tangible. Over the
years I have been so frustrated by my attempts to get
repetitive results that every step I take now is to enable
me to do vocally what I want to whenever I want to.
Unfortunately nerves are still the crucial downfall. I listen to people like
Gedda, for example, specifically in his performance of Elgar's Dream of
Gerontius and I hear a man using his voice in three distinct manners. His
technique is more than artistic, it is objective. Reg.
