What about becoming a nonprofit?
Or aligning* with a nonprofit for fiduciary purposes?
I think this has been discussed previously, but I
haven't seen it in this discussion (but I do get the
digest version). Beg pardon if its repetitious.
*Accepted practice; allows unincorporated individuals
or entities that may eventually become nonprofits to
receive donations & funding through a contractual
agreement with a sympathetic nonprofit. That is, the
sympathetic nonprofit agrees to accept monies granted
to the unincorporated individuals and cuts the checks
to pay the bills in return for a small administrative
fee.
