Subject:  basic books

Hello Everyone -

First, I want to thank those who suggested Meribeth Bunch's "Dynamics of the
Singing Voice" in response to my plea for information on physiology.
Reading and understanding that book has created a huge leap in progress for
me. I am thrilled with what I hear and feel in my voice, and it is great to
see the look on my teacher's face when she hears me doing something she has
been trying to get me to do for the last 6 months. Yes!!

Now, I am wondering what listers would suggest for a basic library for opera
singers - there are quite a few books out there, and the ones I am most
attracted to right now are Richard Miller's On the Art of Singing and
Structure of Singing. I gained a lot just from flipping through those.

What would you recommend as a basic set of books for a singer in training?

Thanks, and I hope Vocalist will still be around when I have the experience
and knowledge to contribute more rather than just asking questions!
