oddly enough, i recently heard aaron neville, for the first time in
several years, and was struck that he wasn't as bad as i had remembered. my
latest thought is that he sings with conviction and a kind of modesty (i'm
not really sure what i mean by that) and find it both admirable yet,
frustrating to listen to, that his singing, physically, seems so unstable.
probably the next time i listen to him, i'll think something
completely different. that doesn't bother me.
