My audition on Saturday went quite well.
The company's artistic director was conducting the auditions. I asked her
about singing "I am easily assimilated." She told me not to worry, that the
accompanist had played it at a Bernstein showcase the company had held the
year before.
I felt quite confident once he arrived and played for the two sopranos
before me, who sang "Glitter and Be Gay" and an aria from "Susanna."
Anyway, to make a long story short, I aced the Old Lady's tango, and I'm
quite confident about getting SOMETHING with this company. Thank you thank
you thank you.
