Here's part of the review of the Milwaukee Choral Artists concert held on 3/26/00:
"Claude Debussy's "La Damoiselle Elue" featured Christine Thomas in the title role of a heaven-bound spirit, waiting for the ultimate reunion with her earth-dwelling lover. Ms. Thomas proved her abilities as musician and actress, her precise intonation and crisp French diction in perfect union with expressive facial gestures." --Charles Grosz, Wisconsin Light, 3/29/00
What a wonderful piece that is to sing!! It's ostensibly for soprano, but it fit my voice like a glove. No, I couldn't float some notes like a soprano might be able to, but for the most part, it sat right in the middle for me. I really hope to be able to sing it again!
