Well in my experience upper frequencies are always called HIGH frequencies and LOW frequencies the grumbles, so the LOFTY part of the range means something to me and my technique up there always requires a certain preparation, which I hope is not too prominent. After-all, that is the definition of good technique. That it should occur, but not be obvious.
I'd have thought that the idea of high frequencies being the lofty one was indeed, fairly universal.
