You must stretch the traumatized muscles just as physical therapists do for
limbs. Use loft register and gently go for the lowest notes possible while
maintaining the loft. You should feel the sense of stretch and of physical
effort required of the respiratory system, but no vocal cord trauma or
effortful tone.

Have fun. It will come back quickly if this is accomplished adequately.
