I think the discussions of tonsillectomy took place on the original
Vocalist.

The bottom line is that if you need to have your tonsils out for medical
reasons, the voice either shows no difference or gets better resonance.
It depends on whether your tonsils are very large or just frequently
infected.

There are other issues such as surgical precautions, anesthesia
precautions, care of the airway when and if intubated that also need to
be considered.
