I'm not really answering your question, but are you aware that part of the
application for dean (or whatever term they used) for the Paris
Conservatory was to compose a vocalise? I had a friend who had collected
these over the years (a soprano.) Also, Montsalvatge composed one that
might be for medium voice, but that is only a vague recollection. Let us
know what you find.
