Hi again,
Ok. I think I understand what you're asking. You haven't been studying
for very long so you're concerned about starting to work on actual music
at this early stage. The arie antiche (and other like them) are great
beginner pieces. They help you to learn technique while applying it to
actual music. I'll say that from personal experience it does me no good
to learn a technique in the vein of just an exercise. I have a hard
time then applying it to a real-world music situation. I learn best by
using the music itself as a learning tool. You don't need to have your
technique perfected before you start singing music. Learning music is,
in itself, a good training ground for technique. Does that make any
sense?
