This woman's
priority, from what it sounds like, is the health of her baby. Everything
else is inconsequential. Her students can seek help from others, if needed.
That baby is depending only on her.

Christine Thomas

Christine do you think she should have accepted a new student then? I just
think that if it were me I would not have chosen to have a studio recital at the
time I was supposed to be delivering. And my phone call to her was right after
she was talking to me on the phone (she called me to tell me about the bed
rest)...we were chatting about the recital (and as I posted before she handed me
two new pieces and asked me to select a third three days before her call)...
..but that the recital was still going to happen and that I was on my own...I
was trying to let her know about the problems I had with the German piece
etc....and she said "my girls are fighting, I will call you right back" she
never did...I waited two days for her to call me back...because I wanted to tell
her that my throat was hurting all the time after singing...so I called her and
left that as a message. I said, "I am going to stop practicing now....as when I
sing any high note my throat hurts and continues to hurt all day....please call
me back and let me know what you think is happening...is this a technical
problem, am I singing to high in chest voice, I am worried." and she never
called back. It's been over a week. So...I am just going to wait until I hear
from her..and I will let her know that I am under NO circumstances going to do
the studio recital and that I need technical work...she needs to make sure I am
in head voice...those are my wants at the moment.
