Don't we know it here. Because I don't know IPA, when I look at a
pronunciation guide inside the cover of a piece of music, I always check first
where it is published. This usually means that I have to think "How would a
US of American say that?" Even when English sounds are matched with IPA
symbols, I know enough to be able to tell that usually they are not British or
Australian English sounds that are being referred to.. except perhaps in the
Macquarie Dictionary.
