Well, I teach over 40 hours a week. I used to perform quite a bit and now
hardly at all, which for me is OK. At this point in my life I need to focus
on what brings in the most income and teaching is it. A good teacher with a
full studio can make a lot of money.

In addition, I do really love it and I find it more fulfilling than
performing at this point. I get to use various aspects of my personality
that I do not get to use otherwise. It's a good synthesis of things for me.

The one problem with teaching so much is that I do feel I give a bit of my
voice to my students. I've become a vocal overdoer by default and have very
little time or energy for working on my own voice, so I probably wouldn't
perform as well as I used to. That's a choice I made.
