Subject:  [vocalist-temporary] Sustaining high notes

Hi Karen!

I think it's crucial, as someone said to me once, that nothing should be
gripping when going for high or for sustained. The strong support needs to
be felt horizontally through at waist level and the up-and down the front
needs to feel completely released. Also, focussing on the point at the back
where the diaphragm attaches to the spine helps to focus the voice deep
inside on the body and thus send it up more freely. Hope this makes sense!

I also hope this gets through........
