Yes, this is true. *However*, I wouldn't expect someone to use these
transpositions in auditions or competitions. The adjudicators will
expect to hear the pieces performed in the original keys. If one's
auditioning for a role, you don't want to audition with the aria in a
completely different key than what it would end up being performed in.

On the other hand, if you're just learning the piece to work on some
specific technical aspect, or you're planning on singing it a recital
where it might fit your "theme", then by all means, use the
transcription.
