As always on the internet, the most effective way to
deal with someone you find yourself at nonproductive
odds with is to ignore the posts.
It takes a response to create a flame war, after all.
If you don't like it, ignore it -- if everyone else
feels the same way, the threads will die quickly and
discussion of other topics can continue. There's no
need to start flame wars about the flame wars, or
discuss who should or should not post to the list, or
go around in circles about how inappropriate a certain
message was, or leap to anyone's defense. That's the
surest way to keep the discussion going.
