Are there any other performers in your area who do similar shows that you
could attend? Not that you should be copying anyone, but it may be a good
opportunity to get a "feel" for what good audience rapport is like. If you
discover someone who's particularly successful at it, take him/her to lunch
one day and see what you can learn.
