Hello. I am looking for some tips on dealing with an audience. I have
been doing shows lately in resort areas that require more interaction
with the audience. My problem is that aside from the time I am
singing, I am extremly bashful. I am sometimes at a loss for words
between songs. Will this improve with time or are there some things I
can do to learn how to be a better performer? Are there books on the
subject of performing live? Any performance coaches out there?
Thankfully, I have learned to interact with the audience between sets
and gracefully accept compliments. I used to stammer and stutter with
embarassment when approached but now I smile, make eye contact and
say "Thank you. I'm glad your having a good time." Something to that
effect.
