Well the guy I was looking for was Daniel Rodriguez "The singing Cop"
Apparently Placido Domingo has taken him under his wing and will be sending him
to vocal studies and eventually the Washington Opera. Someone on the other
Opera list answered my query for me...and THANK GOODNESS, because I was stewing
about it...trying to remember anything about him. He has a lovely voice..his
"Oh Holy Night" was tear jerking. You'd think the Today show would have a
search function on their site so you coudl see who was on past shows.
