Hi Jennifer: Thanks for your posting regarding the 25 year old singer I used as an example. She does sing for weddings as well as playing organ and flute. Unfortunately that isn't enough to live on nor is it the kind of performance opportunities she is looking for. She's been doing weddings since high school and is musically and generally so much more mature that she's ready for something with more meat. I know people make it at later ages but in all reality I don't see her getting her first opera role at 40 if she hasn't got a resume of credits. I think most people end up taking that paying day job and trying to work on their music in whatever time may be left over because they have to pay the bills and that is frustrating.
