Subject:  music performance

Hi Jennifer:
Thanks for your posting regarding the 25 year old
singer I used as an example.
She does sing for weddings as well as playing
organ and flute.
Unfortunately that isn't enough to live on nor is
it the kind of performance opportunities she is
looking for. She's been doing weddings since
high school and is musically and generally
so much more mature that she's ready for something
with more meat.
I know people make it at later ages but in all reality
I don't see her getting her first opera role at 40 if she
hasn't got a resume of credits.
I think most people end up taking that paying day job
and trying to work on their music in whatever time may
be left over because they have to pay the bills and that
is frustrating.
