Hi, Harold,
I have been in your position to some extent, even the driving aspect. It's worst when I don't understand why the blocking is how the director has determined it - meaningless blocking may as well be untranslated Martian text for me. Then it's worse when they make changes after I've started to get used to the original. I've found it most helpful to walk through the blocking as it's given to me, and begin to associate a place on the stage with the words/music I'm singing. Later, the music and words will act as a kinesthetic cue and I'll know I'm supposed to be down right at the table for this particular phrase, etc.
You may want to break the scenes into "beats" (dramatic subsections) and memorize the movements for each one at a time. The task will seem less daunting if broken up into small bits.
Good luck!
