Anybody read Jerome Hines' other book, "The Four Voices of Man?" He
has interesting things to say about this, which I wouldn't dare get into
other than to suggest it as another source! I can also suggest the
video "Opera Fanatic, Stefan (Zucker) and the Divas" a film by Jan
Schmidt-Garre, in which Zucker discusses this with several Italian divas
(Simionato, Pobbe, Olivero, Gavazzi), who both talk and demonstrate.
