How about some diversity? There are different markets, and even more
different kinds of voices. I love that Pavarotti can take his hard
mix and sail right up to Db. I also love Maria Kiehr's ability to
sing with a chest-free boy-like pure tone through out her range. I
have a special soft spot for high tenors who can sing across their
break without anyone ever knowing.

EVERYONE is different, and ultimatly has to learn to listen to their
bodies, following a few basic rules of singing that apply universally
(don't cause yourself pain, relax, etc). Singers will turn out
differently depending on their physiological, psychological, and
artistic makeup, and that's wonderful.
