You asked for it:
Meatloaf: Bat Out of Hell (guaranteed to keep you awake though not necessarily avoid a speeding ticket) Owain Phyfe: any recording, but especially Odessey Loreena McKinnett: any recording Joe Cocker: Night Calls Chess: original cast recording
My other choices would be C&W so I'll spare you. ;)

OK -- back on topic (I think) :-)
How about some recommendations for music for a cross-country solo road trip? I'll be driving through a lot of area where there's unlikely to be classical music on the radio, and an over-abundance of country-western (not my cuppa tea). I have my own favorites, of course, but I'd be interested in hearing yours. Variety is the spice of life, and I'll be on the road for at least 42 days.
I'm particularly interested in music that *isn't* conducive to "rest and relaxation," as the last thing I want to do is get drowsy on a two-lane highway. And it doesn't *have* to be opera, either -- I'll be taking some of my favorite choral works (Bach B-minor Mass, Mozart Mass in C-minor, Britten War Requiem, etc.).
Recommendations for specific CDs would be very much appreciated.
Thanks again!
Lana
