On September 12, 2001, at the Centre Pierre Péladeau in Montreal, La
Scena Musicale will celebrate its 5th anniversary with a special
Benefit Gala featuring some of Canada's leading musicians: Julian
Armour (cellist), Denis Brott (cellist), Donna Brown (soprano),
Stéphane Lemelin (pianist), Marie-Nicole Lemieux (contralto), Yannick
Nézet Séguin (pianist), Nathalie Paulin (soprano), and Daniel Taylor
(countertenor). The concert is both a musicians' choice and a
Readers' Choice-six of the musicians provided lists of works they
would like to perform, and until August 8, 2001, readers of La Scena
Musicale and visitors to the website <scena.org> can help select the
programme. Vote at
http://www.scena.org/concert/concert.asp?lan=2 Three lucky
participants will receive a pair of tickets to the concert and
reception.
This is the first classical music Readers' Choice concert in Montreal
and the participation of many of Canada's leading musicians makes
this the event to launch the musical season in Montreal.

p.s. Actually, as a surprise, there will also be an editor's choice
in addition to the Readers' Choice program. The complete program will
