And what about the "Semi-Professional" singer: the one who gets paid for some gigs, and not for others. Or the singer who has a "day job" and also gets paid for singing "on the side". The impression I get is that you're very dismissive of anyone who isn't singing full-time. Given how it's virtually impossible to make a living by singing alone (believe me, I have friends who are struggling to make ends meet - and have to live home with their parents to do even that - as full-time singers), I think being so dismissive of those of us who DO get paid for our singing work, but who also choose to have second jobs so we can AFFORD all the expenses of LIFE and of ART (instead of having to choose one or the other alone), is both unrealistic and unkind.
