My teacher and her ex-husband, both of whom sang with the Met, used to attend
church services together. Frequently someone in the pew in front of them
would turn around, smile, and say "You two should really be singing in the
choir." They would both smile graciously and say that their business schedule
prevented them, or some such thing, but add that it was nice to be
appreciated.
