Dear Suki and Vocalisters:

You should be able to obtain the instrumental setting for "Six
Elizabethan Songs" from Argento's publisher, Boosey and Hawkes. It
has been recorded with instruments but I am not sure on what label.
Perhaps Composer's Recordings or something like that.

Argento has many song cycles out there. He won the Pulitzer Prize
for "From the Diary of Virginia Wolfe" which was written for Janet
Baker and recorded by her. His style is very eclectic but always to
the point and well crafted. Most important of all, he has a
wonderful lyric gift and his melodies really sing while sounding as
if they belong in the 20th century.
