Subject:  Baroque era recital opener needed

OK. So I need a Baroque era song, preferably to open my recital with.
the only Bach aria I have memorized is "Seufzer, Tranen, Kommer, Noth" but
it's kinda dreary to open with, do you agree?
OH! I DO know "Bist Du Bei Mir", and have sung it many times before. What
are your opinions on starting off with that one?

As for Handel, hmm....most of what he writes is a bit too florid for my
voice type.
I am trying to get a good grasp of "Oh! had I Jubal's Lyre!" but I wonder if
it's meant for lighter soprano...because it's tempo is ideal for an opener
type aria.

As usual, thank you for your input!

Molly
