Sandra, I find it very interesting that you write about _seeing_
phrases rather than hearing them or feeling them. Perhaps this means
that you tend to process information visually. What you have written
above does seem oriented to the reading of sheet music. But I bet
that you phrase all sorts of music just fine, such as "Happy
Brithday", "Auld Lang Syne", and any other songs that you know well
and have learned by listening. So I have two very different
suggestions:
1) Mark the phrases in your sheet music. That way you will actually
SEE where the phrases are.
2) Get away from the sheet music as quickly as you can by memorizing
the piece by listening to recordings. It might even be a good idea
for you to learn several pieces of music solely by listening to
recordings and looking at sheet music only after you have memorized
the music.
