How many people actually sing this high? Assuming that they are either a
professional or studying classically?

....... When should someone attempt such rep?
What is the trade-off?

-----------------

I have no idea how many singers can sing f's and g's. I believe one studies
voice to discover the beauty and potential of one's voice. There is no
trade off, either you have the kind of range to sing those high notes or you
don't, although vocal study helps a singer determine the qualities of her
voice, including range. I first started learning the Queen of the Night
arias when I was nineteen. Now I'm almost 50 and sing them better than
ever. However, that I can sing an f or a g doesn't make me a better singer
than someone who can't. They're just in my range.
