There are really only about 4 ways of looking at it: 1. Gay is a choice. 2. No it's not. 3. Conceal it from kids. 4. Be *reasonably* open.
Personally, I go for 2 and 4. My daughter (almost 7) and I have come to a consensus which is: it's like when the prince likes another prince instead of the princess.
